Ampicillin Powder for Injectable Suspension for Cattle, Dogs and Cats

Ampicillin Powder for Injectable Suspension from US Vet is a broad-spectrum penicillin that has bactericidal activity against a wide range of common gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and has proved effective in the treatment of many infections previously beyond the spectrum of penicillin therapy. In cattle and calves, including non-ruminating (veal calves), ampicillin is indicated for treatment of respiratory tract infections including bacterial pneumonia. In dogs and cats this drug is particularly indicated for treatment of respiratory tract, urinary tract, gastrointestinal, skin, soft-tissue, and post-surgical infections. Dosage: Cattle and calves, administer 2 mg – 5 mg per pound of body weight once daily by intramuscular injection. Do not treat for more than 7 days. Dogs and cats, 3 mg per pound of body weight twice daily by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. Vial contains 25 gm ampicillin activity as ampicillin trihydrate. Diluent not included.
